Subject: cgi vs pl & Section 508 Requirements

This is the first time I am attempting forms and cgi. Like previous postings I too am getting "internal error" messages when clicking on the submit button. I noticed that others are using bizmail.cgi instead of bizmail.pl Should I try renaming the file to bizmail.cgi? I am not clear on the difference between the two extensions.
Any help you can provide is most appriecated. Since we are creating an evaluation form for a non-profit, federally funded project, do I need to include any extra codes to meet the American Disabilities Act requirement and safe guards?
Thanks in advance.
