  Subject: Internal Server Error or Misconfiguration
  Posted: 11/10/2004 at 4:49:58 pm
  By: derekhaynes

Running on a linux machine. Tried all permissions set as directed. Then with all set to 777. Email is lower case and I am using the "\" as directed.

Error log reads: Premature end of script headers: /usr/local/.../cgi-bin/bizmail.cgi

url: http://www.dalat-intl.org/shilling/gift_cert.htm.

Any help would be appreciated.

As an aside, server admin indicates that only cgi and pl scripts should be placed in the cgi-bin, as access is restricted and other files will not be accessable. Does this change where I should upload .dat and .html files?

thanks!

First you can place .html and .dat files in your cgi-bin, however you can not call them as actual pages, so in lamens terms for the sake of this script you will be fine.

Second Try this.
IN bizmail.cgi After the path to perl add what is inside the double quotes to the end of the path to perl " -w"

So for example it should look something like this:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w

ALSO if this still does not work, try adding the path to perl to the top of ALL the .cgi files you uploaded from the zip file. THIS IS USHUALY NOT NECESARY, but some servers are configured to where it is.
