How would I make the form only display the chosen field or at least mark the chosen one so I would know how to send future emails to clients?

Right now the form displays both:

html_mesfile: form/html.mes
plain_mesfile: form/plain.mes

..on submit.

thanks in advance for any help.

I think I see what you are trying to accomplish. If you are trying to figure out what format of emails they want to recieve use:

Select Message format:
<select name="message_format">
<option value="html">HTML</option>
<option value="text">Text</option>
</select>

This then will send the type of message that they select in the autoresponse, and then you will also know what format they will want to receive in the future.

I have that part working correctly.. the email I get after someone submits a request only has the following

<FONT face=Arial size=3><br><br><br>The form below was submitted by someone @somedomain.com Ip address: 65.169.23.10 December 9, 2004 at 1:34PM<br>-------------------------------------------------------------------------<br><br>html_mesfile: form/html.mes<br>plain_mesfile: form/plain.mes<br>email: test@test.com<br>firstname: test<br>lastname: test<br>address: test<br>phone: test<br>comments: test<br>Send: Send Info<br></font>

I would like it to show me weither html or txt was selected.

..instead of just sending me the form data in html or text format. If it could just send all data in text format but still show if html or text was selected.

also had a side question..

* when the user selects Confirm in: Plain/Text, the message in
the text box is still treated as HTML because the carriage-return,
line-feed appears as a <br> as in the following:
# postinfo: it was an ok story<br>
# it took me a while to read<br>
# it kind of scared me - parts of it

any way to fix this?

Thanks for the great form and good support it has come in very handy.

Firstly, what method of sending the mail are you using, sendmail or SMTP, and what server are you on. Also if SMTP does your server support sendmail.

Second you can edit the functionality on the <br> however you would have to edit the actual scripting itself.

-It's sending via SMTP on iMail on a NTFS System. This makes a differance in how the mail form sends the info fo rthat selection?

-ok thanks. I do see that line in the bizmail file. Replacing it with an actual line return gives an error.
