I installed the script, did everything I had to do, but it just isn't working. On my server the sendmail-function was disabled, so I'm using the smtp-function. All the cgi is working (I get listings of the message send in the data form) but I just don't get any messages in my mailbox (just that anoying errormessage everythime I send it)

This is the second time a script using smtp isn't working on the server. Could it be possible that they mannaged to disable the smtp-send ass wel, or is that impossible?

Yes, it looks like they probably either,

a. disabled smtp
b. changed the smtp address.

Just contact your host for the vaild SMTP address. With this you should be all set....

The only other posibility is that the script needs SMTP authentication...

I received the good smtp-adress for my server, but I still get the error-message. Cgi is working fine (still get the data written in my data-file), but something seems to go wrong. My novice skills in programming don't find the problem.
