Hi,
I am trying to upgrade from the free version of 2.2 to the elite version of 3.1.1. I love the new features, but cannot seem to get the reply email to use any of my html.mes files. In fact all I get is a blank message in plain text. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Btw, the form that I am currently working with is located at http://tpac.org/forms/graphics1.asp

I will take a look at it.

I will probably need to see the configuration file. Post this section of bizmail.cgi to this board:

$HTML_mes_file{"1"} = "html.mes";
$HTML_mes_file{"2"} = "";
$HTML_mes_file{"3"} = "";

Also are you using SENDMAIL OR SMTP.

Regards,

Seth

Thank you for looking at this Seth.
I am using smtp and have mime enabled.
Here is the info you were looking for.

$HTML_mes_file{"1"} = "html.mes";
$HTML_mes_file{"2"} = "grahtml.mes";
$HTML_mes_file{"6"} = "graphics.mes";

Also, I am the server admin and can adjust any settings that you need.

Btw, the .mes file in question is the same one that is being used for the 2.2 version of the script, and it works fine. I also tried referencing the default .mes file that comes with the software.

Did you see the above referenced link, and try putting in the full path to the message file.

Is your host on windows or Linux?

Regards,

Seth

I am hosting this on windows.
I also tried I have tried $HTML_mes_file{"6"} = "/wwwroot/tpac/cgi-bin/graphics.mes";
Got a cgi error on that one.
Then I tried
$HTML_mes_file{"6"} = "/cgi-bin/graphics.mes";
And got the same blank email.

Ok, first change back
$HTML_mes_file{"6"} = "graphics.mes";

Then in bizmail.cgi find the variable line:
$ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_CGI_BIN = "";

Completely erase all of that text and replace with the below code:

@SCRIP_SP=split("/",$ENV{'PATH_TRANSLATED'});
$NUMB_dir = @SCRIP_SP;
$FILE_NAME = @SCRIP_SP[$NUMB_dir-1];
$FILE_LENGTH = length($FILE_NAME);
$PATH_LENGTH = length($ENV{'PATH_TRANSLATED'});
$ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_CGI_BIN = substr($ENV{'PATH_TRANSLATED'}, 0, ($PATH_LENGTH-$FILE_LENGTH));

This is what I got
Error Summary
HTTP Error 502.2 - Bad Gateway
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are "Can't locate sql_settings.cgi in @INC (@INC contains: C:/strawberry/perl/lib C:/strawberry/perl/site/lib .) at E:\wwwroot\tpac\cgi-bin\bizmail.cgi line 406. ".

Incedently, I get the same error if $ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_CGI_BIN = "";
is left blank

Did you upload: sql_settings.cgi to your cgi-bin?

Yes I did. I put all those files in the cgi folder and gave the iis user read/write permissions.
If I populate the $ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_CGI_BIN = ""; with the path to the cgi-bin folder, everything but the reply email works fine.

Hi,
I'm still having a problem with this.
I have tried changing all the cgi files to pl files since the old version that I was using had that extension. I still get a blank message, but it is in html now. So that's a start. Maybe this will help you come up with ideas about what is causing this problem.

I am sorry did not realize you posted the previous, must not have gotten that email.

Let me check.

I'm wondering if this isn't an issue with this being hosted on IE7. I am going to try moving this to a server that is running IE6 and see if it makes any difference. I will update you on my results.

I ment IIS6 not IE.

Ok... so, hosting this from iis6 works fine. Drop all files in an iis7 server and the message comes back blank. I have double checked all of the iis settings and they match as best as possible with the platform differences. Any thoughts?

Not sure. I host nothing on Windows. I am not a Windows fan. Sorry, wish I could help more. I would say my best guess is there is probably some configuration you where missing.

Regards,

Seth
