Am I right that it's not possible to use <%B%FORMNAME%> or <%REQ%FORMNAME%> with radio buttons or checkboxes?

Correct, obviously a check box or a radio button has to be checked for it to contain a value so if un-checked, then they will be converted to the appropriate HTML tags. Seth
