  Subject: Cannot get cc_to to work
  Posted: 11/25/2008 at 10:49:38 pm
  By: GarryM

I am in a panic. I purchased version 3 and cannot get it to work. I am using version 2.2.2 and it works great. I just need to use the cc_to but it does not work. I have set the code in the html file and I have defined an email address for cc_to as below.

$cc_to{"1"} = "garry\@garrylee.ca";

<input type="hidden" name="cc_to" value="1">

I thought by updating to the latest I could solve the problem but instead I can't get it to work AT ALL. I don't have time to get it working right now. If I can get 2.2.2 working with the cc_to I will have time later to figure out version 3.

Please help.
Thank You

Seth,

I noticed that the cc_to code is not in the sendmail.cgi.
Is there an updated sendmail.cgi for 2.2.2 or can I add it. The sendmail for version 3 is not compatable. I am a registered user of version 3.

Garry, Sorry I was out for Thanksgiving.

What do you mean by "The sendmail for version 3 is not compatible?"

I would try a different email as the cc to, like the one you used for the to, to see if it is really a script problem, or whether your mail is blocking the incoming email as spam.

Regards,

Seth

No problem. Sorry for being so short with you but I am conducting an online vote that has to go to 2 people for verification but am using html mail.
I think I know what the problem is. If you are using html, you cannot use cc. Is this correct?
I changed to plain and it worked.
Could it be made to work with html mail?
I am still having version 3 problems but will tackle them later.
As I said before, I am using 2.2.2 and it is working great, I just need to figure out how I can cc the html.
Any help would be great.

Thank You for answering.

Ah, you may be correct. I think that was one thing I did update in version 3. Let me see if I can get you a quick fix.

Garry, sorry was not thinking clearly. I was looking at the 2.2 version, and was originally thinking you where talking about the auto-reply email sent to the poster, not the form results email. Yes, the only way you can get the results in HTML format is by using the current version. If you read the readme, it gives steps to go through to figure out what the problem may be of why it is not working.

Regards,

Seth
